Our Mission

At the Gayle Johnson Cohen Preschool we strive to create a loving, caring environment in which each child is encouraged to develop their own unique learning style.  As a Jewish school, we seek an atmosphere in which Judaism, Jewish history, holidays, values, customs and Hebrew language are a living and constant part of our children's everyday lives.

The Talmud Torah of St. Paul Preschool has provided quality early childhood education for over 40 years.  Today’s Preschool program strives to create a loving, caring environment in which each child is encouraged to develop their own unique learning style.  All of the activities are designed to set a solid foundation for ongoing Jewish and general education.

The Preschool provides a warm and nurturing setting with primary emphasis on building children’s self-esteem and teaching them to work and play with other children and adults. We want the children to see themselves as worthy individuals with positive social skills. As a Jewish school, we seek an atmosphere in which Judaism, Jewish history, holidays, values, customs, and the Hebrew language are a living and constant part of the child’s everyday reality.

Daily activities allow the children an opportunity to increase their understanding and appreciation of the  world around them, to build their large and small muscle coordination with both indoor and outdoor play, and to enrich their understanding of number and verbal concepts. In addition to the teacher and assistant in the classroom, your child will have an opportunity to work with a music, Hebrew, and physical education specialist each week. The afternoon schedule also includes a 30-minute quiet period.
