Mindful Mussar Va’adot (Communities of Practice)

When and where: Alternate weeks, October to May (14 sessions). Two options:

  • Mondays: 7:00 - 9:00 pm at Beth Jacob Congregation. Meets October 15, 29; November 12, 26; December 10; January 7, 28; February 11, 25; March 11, 25; April 8, 29; May 13

  • Wednesdays: 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at St. Paul JCC. Meets October 17, 31; November 14, 28; December 12; January 9, 30; February 13, 27; March 13, 27; April 10; May 1, 15

Facilitator: Sara Lynn Newberger

Through an exploration of mindfulness practices, Jewish texts, group conversation, and Mussar practices, you will explore specific soul traits like humility and kindness and consider ways to expand their presence in your life. These va’adot (communities of practice) are appropriate to those with and without prior Mussar experience.

Cost: $300 for the series ($250 for Hineni supporters or members of Beth Jacob, Mount Zion, or the JCC)
